Includes Worksheets for 50 Projects!My name is Steve Black, and my passion is to build a community of business professionals inspired to grow their business through developing quality referral relationships.Whenever I had a big idea, or even a small idea for a new project or refining an existing system or task, I found myself writing copious notes on bits of paper. I then transitioned to notepads and notebooks (so I didn’t lose the bits of paper). I had a notebook for ideas to do with clients. I had a notebook for coaching. I had notebooks for mentoring, business growth, ideal clients and many more.The problem with the notebooks and pads is they were not designed for jotting down ideas and then expanding the idea if it was something I wanted to do. It was literally lined sheets of paper. I then found worksheets I could print but they just had way too many check boxes, information and ideas to make them usable for me. I didn’t want the project sheet to be a project in of itself. I needed the worksheets to be simple, but in a book!This is where this Project Planning Workbook came into being. I created these worksheets to help me write down any information I wanted about a project without limiting my ideas and yet, keep some of the structure for planning the project should I decide to pursue it. The front side of the Project Planning Worksheet includes the title, some relevant information to help me decide if I want to tackle it and a way to break it into steps to make the project easier to complete. The back contained just lined paper where I could write as many notes as I want about a project. I could then either start a completely new project on the next sheet or go into detail with some of the smaller steps in the main project. It just depended on the depth of the project.Having used this design of the Project Planning Worksheet myself for just over 4 months in the loose-leaf format, I knew I wanted lots of worksheets in a workbook where I could constantly go back to and also have multiple workbooks to cover different areas of my business.No more ring binders, clipboards and pieces of paper lying around. I can even add post-it notes and flags to the different workbook pages to help me classify information in the same book if needed.Why do I feel the need to write projects and ideas down this way? It’s all about Dreaming Big!We hear it all the time. It’s plastered on the back of every elementary school bathroom. And it’s what your mom tells you when you’re unsure of your future. Dream big. In theory, dreaming big sounds great—but it’s easier said than done. Without big dreams, we’ll never reach our full potential. We must dream big to achieve our goals in life. When I focus on the plans and tasks that will lead me to reach my dreams, I begin to notice new ways of doing things. When my focus is on finding solutions, that’s what I find. On the other hand, dreamers who keep their minds engaged with all the things that could go wrong as they work towards their goals will experience difficulties and challenges. Eventually, they’ll give up. What we focus on grows. When you are dedicated to making your dream a reality, you focus on the victories and learning experiences, which brings you more of the same blessings.Being in business for yourself isn’t easy. If it was, everyone would do it. But that doesn’t mean we have to make it any harder than we need to. Planning projects and ideas has made a huge change in the way I run my business.
